Tigger’s Room

Tigger’s Rooms are where we prepare children to transition to their first school. This involves age and developmentally appropriate resources and activities, a higher level of independence but with a more targeted individual attention to ensure that every child meets or exceeds their EYFS goals. This is done through encouraging investigation of everyday objects while feeding their curiosity of the wider, wonderful world.

About Tigger's Room

Tigger’s Rooms are for children ages two and a half years to five years old. We encourage investigation of everyday objects whilst feeding their curiosity of the wider world.  We facilitate this through careful supervision and adult interaction that supports rather than dictates each child’s learning journey. This maximises their progression and excitement in the wonderful, wider world.

The activities in Tigger’s Rooms are set with more in-depth focus. The children also have a free flow between rooms to allow them to explore various activities, including role-play, the quiet corner and the kitchen.

Teaching them about everyday things helps with the transition into formal school life. Children’s progress is supported through the Prime and Specific EYFS.

The three prime areas of Learning are:

  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Physical development
  • Communication and language

The Specific Areas of Learning are:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design
