How do I know The Hunny Pot Nursery is the right nursery for my child?
It is crucial that you have the right nursery for your child. We would recommend that you book a visit before registering your child as this will give you the chance to see the rooms, meet the practitioners and ask any questions you have.
The best advice anyone can give you is to listen to your instincts.
What is the difference between a school nursery and The Hunny Pot Nursery?
-All childcare settings have to register with Ofsted. A nursery run by a school will generally only be available during school hours only. The Hunny Pot Nursery is open from 7.30 am to 6 pm. This means that all your child’s needs, including breakfast, lunch and tea are catered for by us. You don’t need to worry about whether their child has been fed breakfast or tea.
- At The Hunny Pot Nursery, we will take children from 12 weeks old and can care for your child for all year round. School nurseries will only take children from 3 years old and are open term time only.
- Child-adult ratios in schools are 13 to 1. That means that there are only 2 adults with 26 children! Private nursery ratios, including The Hunny Pot Nursery, the ratio is 1 adult to 8 children. This means there are twice as many qualified staff members at The Hunny Pot as in most schools. This also means your child gets much more individual attention than at a school nursery.
The school has said that my child needs to move now to secure a place.
The decision about your child’s school place is not made by the school. The decision is made by Kirklees Council
Being in a school nursery does not guarantee your child a place in that school.
Do not feel pressured to move your child sooner than they are ready. Do not feel guilty about leaving your child at The Hunny Pot Nursery, where they are happy and settled and getting much more individual attention.
